Tamán serves as a missions base with the purpose of equipping the body of Christ and developing a culture of prayer and worship in Ciudad Valles, Mexico. Tamán comes from the Huasteco word that means ‘Place of Meeting.’ As Moses constructed the tent of meeting for the Israelites to encounter God (Exodus 33:7), musicians and intercessors from different churches of the city gather at Tamán to seek the Lord for our city and the nations.
The missions base is strategically located in downtown Ciudad Valles, only two blocks from city hall and the main plaza. The heartbeat of Tamán is the prayer room, and everything that happens on the missions based is geared around worship, prayer and missions. Currently the prayer room offers live worship and intercession sets each week that are open to everyone – Tamán is closed on Sundays. Tamán offers music classes and internships for those who want to grow in their walk with God.
God has placed a calling on Mexico in this hour to join the global incense of worship and prayer rising from the earth to the very throne room of God. Hundreds of churches in Mexico have started houses of prayer in their churches, and there is an awakening to seek the Lord and grow in intimacy with Him. As one of the first houses of prayer functioning as a missions base in Mexico, we are humbled and in awe of the task God has placed before us. Each individual committed to the missions base donates their time, or raises their own support to live as a part-time or full-time missionary.
